Are you a proud subscriber of Xbox Game Pass provided by Microsoft? Since the chances are that you also have a PC, we have some exciting news for you. Satya Nadella, the CEO of the service, revealed that the Game Pass is coming to PC.
The owners of Xbox One had the chance of enjoying their subscription from last summer. It costs only $10 per month and it offers a whole lot of games whose base seems to be growing every day. At this moment, you can play not less than 200 releases. Although most of them are games that are a bit older (but still good) you can also enjoy the latest hits, such as Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Thieves.
Another important announcement is that all games that are endorsed by Microsoft (also called first-party releases) are now appearing at the same time on PC and Xbox One. You’ve surely heard of the Play Anywhere plan that Microsoft has applied for a while now. That implied that you can play a portion of the games available on Game Pass on both PC and Xbox.
However, these rules were not applied to those Xbox games that were designed by third parties and those remained strictly available on Xbox. That is precisely the thing we expect to change with the Game Pass soon, which means PC users will be granted full access to all releases available with the subscription.
“We are happy with the capabilities for monetization that our company’s platforms have. It doesn’t matter if the releases are made by first or third parties, the results are encouraging. That is why we are looking for ways to boost community strength. We already made Minecraft available across all platforms and we are hoping to continue down that road. Making the Game Pass available for PC is a vital element of our plans,” said Nadella.
There is no doubt that the gamers accepted the Game Pass with great joy, considering the number of subscribers that are regularly paying for the service. Microsoft is constantly trying to add to the list of available games in the library and that is another thing that encourages the studio ahead of launching the PC Game Pass.
