The successful JRPG franchise Star Ocean is making its debut on PC in November. Square Enix revealed that they would release a remastered edition of The Last Hope, the fifth game of the series. Although it was created and released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 eight years ago, it underwent a complete revamp for the first appearance on PC.
Here are some of the features that we can expect in the Star Ocean The Last Hope:
- Strategic real-time battles
- Enhanced story – improved with subplots and the Private action system which will deepen the relationships between characters
- A complex Item Creation System
- 4K Support
- Steam achievements
- Keyboard and Controller Support
It’s nice to see that Square Enix tried to include new elements into the story. Aside from that, we are looking forward to top-class graphics and the support for the 4K resolution, which will considerably improve the visual presentation of the game.
Why Did They Choose Star Ocean: The Last Hope?
Despite the fact that it is the fifth installment out of total six in the series, TLH is a prequel. That’s probably where the answer lies to why the developers choose this game in particular. After all, is there a better way to introduce the story to PC players than by starting from where it all began?
However, the console fans weren’t thrilled with this edition when it was released back in 2009. It was far from a favorite, and some of them expressed concern that a wrong title has been picked. It does seem that the creators are aware of the flaws that the game initially had. That’s why they added new gameplay elements and tried to improve the release as much as possible. PC owners will finally have a chance to test the Star Ocean series on their devices on November 28.
