Google has suddenly raised the ante with the recent announcement of games such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Hitman, Outcasters, etc to be released on the platform. IO Interactive’s Hitman reboot is a critically acclaimed series, with the latest installment, Hitman 3, confirmed for Stadia as well while Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was awarded Game of the Year of 2019. Although these games are available on other platforms already, they are still exciting additions to the newcomer gaming platform.
Not only that, but Google Stadia has also signed up five game developers for exclusives. One of which already has their project ready for release. This fall, get ready to cause sweet mayhem in the online multiplayer game Outcasters, where the camera angle is top-down and bullet shots don’t go in a straight trajectory. That’s right, you can pull off trick shots by using angles and ricochets to hit enemies without even facing them. Furthermore, by featuring tightly packed levels and clean art design, this game is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. At this moment, developer Splash Damage hasn’t provided us with a lot of details but they have promised Outcasters to be an engaging and overall enjoyable experience. To top it all off, players will also be able to equip numerous dance emotes, customize their character, and gradually unlock various cosmetic in-game items.
Another one of Stadia’s games, Orcs Must Die! 3 released just a few days ago to a positive reception. The latest entry in this beloved franchise is made with a clear and straightforward vision: Give players what they want. However, now every aspect of this series is expanded upon and offers bigger gameplay than the previous titles. The premise of this game is defending your tower or base from an overwhelming army of Orcs. Orcs Must Die! 3 is available now on Google Stadia.
Game studios Harmonix and Supermassive have both agreed to make exclusives for Google Stadia. Many fans will probably know Supermassive for their highly interactive survival horror game Until Dawn where the player takes control of eight characters and is faced with intense decisions that potentially change the entire game. You may also be aware of Harmonix for their work in Dance Central and Rock Band. We will have information in the future but the mere inclusion of these studios is a reason for hype.
Continuing from the AAA releases on Google Stadia, we will soon be getting a few sports games as well. The much anticipated NBA 2K21 is confirmed for Stadia at launch. Not to mention PGA 2K21 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds will also be releasing on Stadia. PGA 2K21 is set to release on 21st August 2020 and in the following month i.e September 18th, WWE 2K Battlegrounds. Behavior Interactive’s biggest title, Dead by Daylight, will come back to haunt gamers during September. This time around, developers have added unique components into the game called Crowd Play and Crowd Choice which will allow for a bit more player control and interactivity in the online experience of the game.
Google is definitely stepping up with securing creative indie titles for their exclusive games roster while appealing to gamers worldwide through household AAA titles
