If you are a fan of snowboarding or winter in general and you also love playing Battle Royale games, the chances are that you are excited about Ring of Elysium. This BR shooter has finally been released on its servers in Europe.
This is important news for those already playing the game. Up until today, gamers from Europe had to play on servers located in North America. That spoiled the game for players on both continents as the lag was disrupting enjoying the sessions to the fullest.
Tencent, the Chinese-base studio who created the game, revealed the servers were expected in October, but it took much longer than expected. The exact reason for the delay wasn’t specified, but we assume that setting up took more time than they anticipated.
Even now when the servers officially started working, there are still certain lag issues involved. According to the announcement posted on Steam, even Tencent admitted that European-based servers are dealing with surprisingly high latency. Allegedly, a small number of players are even having problems connecting to the lobby. The studio is working in collaboration with the server providers to repair the issues and help the players enjoy the game to the fullest.
What is the Ring of Elysium?
Ring of Elysium is a shooter offering players to test their Battle Royale skills in the mountain setting during the winter. Although the game is still in Early Access, it seems that many players loved it. The developers add some new twists to the basic BR idea. When you start, you are allowed to pick a spawn point.
The options also include loadouts that give you a chance to begin with a special movement skill. Finally, four players that manage to find their way to the chopper can be extracted to survive the current round. It is the movement skills that seem to be most exciting for the players. They give you the chance to, for example, go up steep slopes, but you can also choose an ability to hang glide or snowboard.
