It was in November 2017 when Electronic Arts acquired Respawn Entertainment, the developers of the Titanfall franchise. No games have been released by the studio, but we are aware that the development team is working on no less than three titles. According to Andrew Wilson, the CEO of EA, two of their games will be released during 2019.
Unfortunately, Wilson remained mysterious and hadn’t revealed the exact titles of those games. If you ask us, it is only natural to expect the next installment in the Titanfall franchise soon, especially considering that it has been over two years since the second addition to the series. Truth to be told, the sales of Titanfall 2 didn’t delight Vince Zampella, the CEO of Respawn. However, he emphasized that the lowered numbers were probably because of the poor timing for the release – between COD: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1.
Apart from that, we already know that Respawn is developing Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. The fans of the franchise are undoubtedly looking forward to that game and hoping that the developers can do a fine job and meet (or exceed) their expectations. When it comes to SW: Jedi Fallen Order, it seems that the game won’t be released before the holiday season in 2019.
Although that is still a long way from now, it indicates that one of the two games to be released next year will be this one. In the meantime, be satisfied with the little info we have about the game – it will take place somewhere after the Revenge of the Sith and before A New Hope. The main protagonist will be a Jedi Padawan, a refugee from Order 66. And the most important thing you were wondering about – yes, you will get to use a lightsaber.
The third game Respawn is working on doesn’t still have an official name and we know nothing apart from the fact that it is going to be designed specifically for VR. Since the VR technology is the next step in the gaming industry, we are eager to see how these guys will handle this task, but we still do not know when the release will follow.
We are aware this news is not a lot, but it is enough to boost the anticipation and look forward to the future at least when it comes to games provided by Respawn Entertainment.
