Resident Evil 2 Coming to PUBG Mobile, A Totally Unexpected Crossover

PUBG Resident Evil 2 Crossover

The Battle Royale genre is unarguably the latest trend among gamers. This popularity has now been lasting for over a year and it all started with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Ever since Bluehole released their game, many major titles have decided to include BR modes in their games, including Call of Duty and Battlefield, although the latter is still in development. Epic also had huge success with Fortnite, but let’s take a moment to discuss Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Aside from having the Battle Royale Blackout mode, you are probably aware of the franchise’s zombies mode.

Now, nobody is arguing that BR is increasing its popularity across all platforms and that includes smartphones, too. PUBG Mobile developed by Tencent is a huge hit among the players throughout the world. The reason why we mentioned the zombie’s mode of COD is that something similar may be coming to PUBG Mobile. But the thing that makes things juicier is that Bluehole and Capcom are preparing a crossover between PUBG and Resident Evil!

This piece of news was revealed the kind of shy as the RE account for the Japanese market announced it. You can find their post on Twitter, but keep in mind that it is Japanese which is why we use Google Translate.

Zombie Slaughter Time

Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we managed to reveal that the games that will be combined are Resident Evil RE:2 and PUBG Mobile. The administrators are even teasing the followers and asking what innovative type of gameplay can be offered by mixing these two IPs.

According to the public and their guesses, it will probably be a mode featuring zombies. You can find out more if you check out this video. It is interesting to mention that Capcom is diligently working on the RE franchise lately. Not only smartphone owners will be delighted with this crossover, but we can also expect a Resident Evil 2 remake at the beginning of next year.

As for PUBG Mobile, it was accepted by the community. In fact, it progressed so much that the events held on portable devices are now different than the ones on other platforms. That is all the more reason to look forward to the official announcement of the crossover expecting us in the near future.
