It was PUBG that made the Bluehole Studio famous, but their team is aware that nothing lasts eternally, and that applies explicitly to fame in the gaming industry. That is why they announced that they are already working on a new release called Ascent: Infinite Realm. Few people know that Bluehole already has one MMORPG on their resume. In 2012, they released TERA (The Exiled Realms of Arborea). Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, our sources claim that A: IR will be the sequel to that game.
The developers used steampunk as motivation for Ascent: Infinite Realm. For now, we know that there will be a total of five classes, including Sorceress, Warlord, Mystic, Assassin, and Gunslinger. The authors promise an epic journey to the world where magic meets machines. The gameplay footage published on YouTube looks promising.
Aside from being able to play on the land, you can also take to the skies in A: IR. There will be flying mounts, as well as airships of various sizes to secure the best gaming experience when it comes to airborne battle. On the land, there will also be other vehicles that will serve both for transportation and as a medium for cooperation between players. We know that the game will feature a PvP mode where one realm will take on another, which should also be very exciting.
You will be able to tailor your character to suit your fighting style. And while we expected that we could upgrade our hero, the developers also revealed each player would have his estate. That will be their portion of the in-game world, and they will be able to develop it any way they see fit. The creators believe that this, in combination with aerial and ground-based battle, should be enough for Ascent: Infinite Realm to attract a broad fan base just like PUBG.
When Can We Expect the Release?
Aside from the press release we got, the only info on the game can be found on the official teaser website. We can safely assume that A: IR will appear on PC and there is a good chance that Xbox One owners might also have the opportunity to enjoy playing it. As for the release date, the publisher announced that there would be beta testing during the first six months of 2018, which means that the full version will probably appear by the end of next year. The studio is looking for beta testers, and you can apply on the game’s website.
