Overwatch Free Weekend

If your friends have been playing Overwatch, why wouldn’t you join the party? Thanks to Blizzard, you will be able to do it for free this weekend. The promotion is already active, and it will run until November 20, which means that you have two more days to play the game at no cost. You can enjoy the entire roster of 26 characters and the weekend is more than enough to choose your favorite one!

There will be a total of 16 maps available, while you can play three modes during the promotion. Those are arcade, custom games, and quick play. You will be treated just like any other newbie, and your progress will be saved. Should you decide to purchase a full version after the promotion, all your upgrades and improvements will be transferred, which means you wouldn’t have to start from scratch. Your statistics will also be kept, but that doesn’t count for achievements or trophies, which are disabled during the free promotion.

How Can I Play Overwatch for Free?

The developers require you to sign up for a Blizzard account to be eligible for the Overwatch promotion. You can download their Battle.net app for free here and create an account from there. After you do that, you just need to select the game from the list and run the installation. It is a simple process and one that won’t take more than a couple of minutes.

The goal of this promotion is to attract more fans and make them a part of the game’s already a huge community. That’s why it doesn’t come as strange that the creators decided to also offer a 50% discount on full versions of the game. That includes both the base edition and the Game of the Year version, which includes a bunch of extra content. If you already own standard Overwatch, upgrading to GOTY will cost you only 10%. You can find all the details on this special offer here.

In other news, Blizzard has added another character to the roster of available heroes. It’s a chick named Moira that will play a supportive role in matches. She can heal allies thanks to her biotic energy. The twist is that she can heal herself with the energy she drains from a rival. You can read Moira’s story and find out more about her abilities on this page.
