We like teases and it seems like we are not the only one! Rocksteady and WB Games Montreal are fans of teasing two, especially when it comes to a potential new addition to the Batman Arkham franchise. It seems that it is about time for a new release, especially when you keep in mind when the last games in the series were done.
Rocksteady Studios has developed Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015 and Batman: Arkham VR a year later while the last full release by WB Montreal was in 2013 when they worked on Batman: Arkham Origins. They did release an add-on focusing on Batgirl in 2015, but that isn’t considered a new game.
A Lot of Hints at the Upcoming Game
Everything is shaping up like 2019 could be the year for a fresh WB Montreal release and the fans of Batman are hoping that it could be the next Batman Arkham game. Although the studio hasn’t confirmed anything, there are numerous teases coming and the last one occurred on Twitter where Patrick Redding posted a very intriguing update.
You can check out the post in which he is congratulating the holidays in the name of WB Montreal. There is nothing unusual there, but Redding attached the picture in which the members of the studio are having a party while holding a sign that says “REDACTED.”
Add to that other tweets, such as the one where they focused on a shirt with the Court of Owls symbol. For those of you that may not know, these could be the villains in the next game – the organization was first mentioned in the New 52 Batman comics. There were also announcements on a potential “Project 2019,” but these were deleted.
While we are on rumours, there were some that Rocksteady is working on a Superman game. However, the studio denied this, which now further fuels speculations that we can hope for a new game starring our favourite dark knight.
