Halo Infinite Will Feature Microtransactions in Form of Cosmetic Items

Halo Infinite Microtransactions

It was recently confirmed that Halo Infinite is the next complete installment in the franchise or, if you prefer, a Halo 6 without the number mentioned. Microsoft’s subsidiary development studio 343 Industries is in charge of developing the game, but apart from that, we don’t know a lot of about this game. That is, we didn’t until now. We like those small things that give away big secrets and, in this case, it was job advertisements that discovered that the next Halo will feature microtransactions, games-as-a-service elements, and serious anti-cheat protection.

According to reports, 343 Industries is looking for a design director that specializes in the online experience. The candidate that gets picked out will monitor player progression and encourage gamers to keep playing the game and recommend it to their friends. This doesn’t come as a surprise because there have been updates for the previous installments in the franchise for a long time after they have been released. The candidate is expected to find a way to improve user experience through social features and engage the community to show their passion for the game. In other words, 343 is looking for someone that will help them to tailor new gear, skins, and other cosmetic items, as well as find methods to boost microtransactions. Yes, there is no doubt that in-game purchases will be a part of Halo Infinite.

Aside from that, the studio also requires an engineer that will work on security stuff related to the game with particular emphasis on anti-cheat features. This is an encouraging thing and we are glad to see that 343 is looking to protect PC players. In most cases, the lack of possibility of cheating is the reason why people prefer to play games on consoles rather on PCs. If the studio finds a way to resolve this problem, it can only improve the user experience.

When Can We Expect Halo Infinite?

The game was only announced recently, which means that the full version release should be expected in 2019. In fact, according to internet rumors, the campaign version of Halo Infinite will be available in 2019, but the multiplayer version shouldn’t be expected before 2020. We will gladly wait as long Microsoft and 343 ensure that they deliver an exciting game.
