When it was first announced at E3, Halo Infinite was planned for both consoles and PCs. You may be wondering why this is such important news considering that this is not the first game from the franchise to be released on PC. The reason why it is such a big deal is that this game was announced for our computers and developed for this platform from day one. Allow us to remind you that Halo Infinite will also be available on Xbox. We do not have many details available about the game, but a recent live stream did reveal some interesting information.
For starters, the developers have PC in mind with the new engine called Slipstream. The idea is to make it possible to completely scale and customize the game based on the configuration of your hardware. 343 Industries confirmed that this will be a much easier task now that the studio is aware Halo Infinite is being designed for Windows.
According to the creators, they consider the PC platform a first-class citizen with all its rights. It will be far more than just a PC port, which may mean that we can expect content and events specifically made for this platform, but that is just a wild guess. Either way, it seems that Microsoft is continuing to give its best to promoting PC as a platform that can be used for gaming.
When We Can Expect Halo Infinite?
There is a lot of guesswork involved when it comes to the release date since there was no official confirmation. During the E3, everyone expected the game by the end of 2018. As we are approaching the end of the year, it is becoming clear that will most likely not happen. Furthermore, we probably shouldn’t expect the game in early 2019. The chances are it will appear within a year, but the second half of 2019 seems like the most realistic release date.
We do not mind to wait some more as long as 343 Industries does a solid job and delivers a great game.
