Codemasters Officially Announces DiRT Rally 2.0

Dirt Rally 2.0 Announced

If anyone has experience with racing simulations, it is Codemasters. The newest addition to the genre is the formula 1 simulator F1 2018, but we can expect further great things from this studio in the near future. According to the announcement on the official blog, Dirt Rally 2.0 has been confirmed for February 2019. The exact release date is February 26, but the studio has officially started working on the release.

We also got the chance to take a look at the official trailer that announces the game. As expected, you can see numerous muddy cars racing through the demanding courses with the astonishing environment and even more dazzling sounds. Apart from the trailer, we do not know that much about Dirt Rally 2.0. If you carefully read the blog, you will discover that Codemasters mentioned there will be a total of six rally locations situated in various sides of the world. Each of the stages will be hand-crafted, while the cars will feature a combination of contemporary and modern.

At this point, we do not know which locations will be featured, but someone who takes a wild guess and says Argentina might not be wrong. This country is featured on several photos and we are expecting that the football fans in Argentina get to play a rally game on a realistic location from their country. Codemasters got the license for the FIA World Rallycross Championship, which is nothing less than we expected from this studio.

Back To Its Roots

The history of the series is quite intriguing as DiRT began by focusing more on arcade variants. However, it was the first edition of DiRT Rally that made the studio turn to the idea of simulation racing. The developers showed that it can create a challenging and incredible game at the same time. Anyone who played DiRT Rally knows that it can be incredibly demanding and that is exactly where its beauty lies.

The original was made only for PC, but DirT Rally 2.0 will be released on multiple platforms, including Xbox One and PlayStation 4. That is another indication that we can expect an awesome game and all the more reason to look forward to 26 February 2019!

Besides programming and cars, I love video games and I have a huge passion for tech. That's why I'm up to date with every new thing that comes out. In my spare time I write because I enjoy sharing my ideas and thoughts with people.
