Chris Redfield And Jill Valentine Added To Fortnite Alongside Other Resident Evil Themed Items

Chris Redfield And Jill Valentine Added To Fortnite Alongside Other Resident Evil Themed Items

Surprising crossover between Resident Evil and Fortnite bore fruit to some high-quality cosmetics in the ever-popular battle royale game

Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine arrive in Fortnite as skins in an unexpected crossover with Resident Evil. Fortnite Team, which is naturally part of Epic Games, reports both will be available in a goodies pack. The Fortnite team also says that a “S.T.A.R.S Team Set” will contain both of them.

Both characters also come with alternative styles. The Chris Redfield skin comes with the “Hound Wolf Squad Style”. Which is based on his most recent appearance in Resident Evil Village. The basic version is based on his Resident Evil 5 look. And on that note I have to say, it is weird to see Resident Evil 5 Chris with such deflated arms.

Jill Valentine’s basic skin is based on her iconic blue S.T.A.R.S uniform from Resident Evil 1. This rendition is very pleasing to the eye, and seeing her blue beret in Fortnite brings me joy. But at the same time, it is heartbreaking to see the comically large shoulder pads get toned down for her Fortnite appearance. It is hilarious that the Fortnite team thinks they are “too much”. While Capcom rocked them in the HD remake of this seriously scary horror game.

The alternate style for Jill is the “Raccoon City Style” based on her most recent appearance in the Resident Evil 3 remake.

Some miscellaneous swag is included as well. The iconic healing item, green and red herbs from Resident Evil, appear as cosmetic backpacks. The same goes for “Saving Keystrokes”, which is a typewriter based on saving stations from older titles in the IP. The Stun Rod from RE 5 and 6 appears as a pickaxe skin. Same goes for “Hot Dogger”, a knife from the RE3 Remake.

Chris and Jill in Fortnite – Another win for Epic Games

The S.T.A.R.S team appearing in Fortnite is just another great decision made by Epic. The game had so many great crossovers by now. From real celebrities giving massive concerts in the game. To Thanos descending from heavens in one of the most creative game modes in Battle Royale history. Even lightsabers from Star Wars made their way into the arsenal of the game’s weapons.

The game simply knocks it out of the park when it comes to crossovers. And our yesterday article proves that crossovers in videogames and movies are not going away any time soon.
