Best New Games to Release by the End of 2018 and Most Anticipated Games of 2019

Upcoming Games 2019

You might think that there are only a couple of months left in 2018, but those will be exciting months for all gaming fans. Plenty of games we’ve been looking forward to the entire year are scheduled to be released in October, November, and December and we will check out some of the most anticipated titles in this article. Furthermore, we will even mention the potentially best games of 2019 and the ones we can’t wait to play next year.

Best Games to Release by the End of 2018

The most of the best games in the remaining of 2018 are sequels and new installments to various franchises. Take a look at the releases we singled out:

Call of Duty:  Black Ops 4

Release Date: October 12, 2018

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

Treyarch is the development studio behind the entire Black Ops series and it seemed only natural for Activision to trust them with the fourth sequel. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will not have a single-player mission campaign, but the new inclusion is the Blackout mode, which is nothing else than COD’s version of Battle Royale. Although the game is set into a not too distant future, you will have the opportunity to time travel and kill zombies.

Soul Calibur 6

Release Date: October 19, 2018

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

Bandai Namco has been pushing all the right buttons lately with their games and we are very close to the release of Soul Calibur VI, the latest addition to the fighting franchise that will now be available on PC. SC6 will feature eight-way movement and high-paced fighting with all sorts of swords and other weapons. Aside from the characters we know and love, such as Mitsurugi and Sophitia, the studio promised the inclusion of Geralt from The Witcher in the roster of fighters.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Release Date: October 26, 2018

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4

Two things we learned from Rockstar is that they took the time to develop their games and the final result is always brilliant. We have no doubt that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be no exception. The game will feature a Wild West-themed open world and will be set before the events in the original. Players will assume the role of Arthur Morgan, a member of Dutch van der Linde’s gang. Aside from battling it out with other bandits, you will also perform heists and hunt wild animals.

Hitman 2

Release Date: November 13, 2018

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

Warner Brothers took over from Square Enix to publish this game, but the developers remained the same as in the previous release, which should be a guarantee that Hitman 2 will be an exciting stealth title. The franchise has a long tradition and we know what to expect – exploring locations, using disguises, and eliminating targets while employing creativity will remain your goal as Agent 47.

Fallout 76

Release Date: November 14, 2018

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

Fallout 76 is developed by Bethesda, a studio best known for The Elder Scrolls. The Great War has finished and your goal now is to survive in a shared world filled with mutated creatures. Unlike what you may have expected, the story is not focused on a single-player campaign. Instead, you will collect resources and interact with other gamers in an effort to survive. The crucial feature mentioned is that the map will be several times larger than in Fallout 4.

Battlefield 5

Release Date: November 20, 2018

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

DICE will go with a safe approach when it comes to Battlefield 5 as the game will be set in the timeline of World War 2. You can expect a single player campaign, but the studio will also offer plenty of multiplayer content, which will focus on events that will be time sensitive. Gamers will get to choose from several different classes and some key changes were made to make the battles more exciting, such as the fact that any character can now revive a teammate that is down.

Darksiders 3

Release Date: November 27, 2018

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

The Apocalypse is the theme of many games these days, but the way Darksiders do it is phenomenal. In the third installment of the franchise, Lady Fury will get her own adventure packed with action after we got the chance to play with Death and War. That’s right; you will assume the role of a Horseman (woman) and explore the open world while fighting demons and Seven Deadly Sins. According to reports, Fury will have much more options when it comes to magic then it was the case in previous Darksiders.

The Most Anticipated Games in 2019

The next year will be nothing less exciting for the gaming scene. We are expecting many releases that will rock the community in 2019 to be announced, but here are some that were confirmed so far.

Tropico 6

Release Date: January 25, 2019

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, PC

For the sixth time, you will get to play as El Presidente in this weird city-building mix of simulation and strategy. You will need to construct various buildings to advance your empire, but you will also need to take care of politics, which will sometimes require eliminating dissidents. Tropico 6 will feature multiple islands, which will give you the chance to build transport systems and deepen the strategy element. Although Kalypso remains the publish, the developing has been taken over by Limbic Entertainment.

Kingdom Hearts III

Release Date: January 29, 2019

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4

We have waited for so long to see Kingdom Hearts III, but are glad that we are finally close to its release. Square Enix confirmed that it will be available by the end of January and we are just thrilled. KH3 will feature a mixture of Disney characters we love, including new appearances such as Wreck-It-Ralph or Anna and the rest of the Frozen’s cast. Aside from existing worlds, many new have also been confirmed and the game shapes up to be a true console gem.

Anthem

Release Date: February 22, 2019

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

Electronic Arts knows how to do business and recognize an opportunity to make a profit. Yes, Anthem may remind of Destiny for a bit, but that doesn’t deny the fact that the game looks amazing and if it plays amazing, we will have another brilliant multiplayer action RPG on our hands. A total of four players may participate in cooperative campaigns and collect loot while shooting alien creatures. The question that remains is how EA will handle microtransactions.

Devil May Cry 5

Release Date: 8 March 2019

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

There will be three playable protagonists in Devil May Cry 5. We are familiar with two of them – Nero and Dante, while the third one is only known as “V.” The features we love DMC for remain, which means that you can expect plenty of action and demon slashing. The new sequel is happening a couple of years after what happened in DMC 2 and will feature an online multiplayer mode that can be played jointly by up to three players.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Release Date: Q4 2019

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

The story of the new SW game will be set somewhere between The Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, but we actually do not know that many details. That seems understandable as Respawn Entertainment is still working on the game and it won’t be released until the holiday season next year. It remains to be seen how the studio will try to fulfill the high expectations that the gaming community has from Jedi: Fallen Order.

Gears 5

Release Date: 2019

Platforms: PC, Xbox One

We finally got the confirmation that Gears 5 will be a direct sequel to Gears of War 4, although it is technically the sixth game in the franchise. We do not, however, know the exact release date next year, but G5 will feature both single and local and online co-op modes and be players from a third-person perspective like we are used to.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Release Date: 2019

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a standalone sequel extension of The New Colossus, but not the direct third installment of the franchise. Regardless, you can expect non-stop high-paced action in both solo and co-op modes. It has been 19 years since the events in TNC and Soph and Jess, twin daughters of William J. Blazkowicz will be the game’s main protagonists.

Cyberpunk 2077

Release Date: TBC

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4

We were so excited when CD Projekt Red recently revealed a gameplay walkthrough. We’ve waited for a long time and there is a good chance we’ll wait some more, but the good news is that The Witcher’s creators are working on Cyberpunk 2077. It will be a single player RPG in its essence, but it will feature an open world and first-person perspective. There will only be a single-player mode (announced so far) and the players will assume the role of a mercenary that can use all sorts of weapons and equipment.

In the Valley of Gods

Release Date: TBC

Platforms: PC

Firewatch was an amazing game, which is why we wanted to present you the new game of Campo Santo called In The Valley of Gods. The release date has yet to be confirmed and we are not even sure that it will be 2019. Despite that, we can expect a beautiful adventure from a first-person perspective that will be set in Egypt in the 20th century. Narration will be the crucial part of the story and the environment and the events will be presented by using an authentic 35mm film camera.
