Battlefield V To Get a Premium Currency in January, Rumours Say

Battlefield V

We do not exactly have a high opinion of Electronic Arts’ way of implementing microtransactions. The majority of the gaming community agrees with us and who can blame us considering the previous experience with the studio?

It doesn’t come as strange that the studio is very careful with implementing microtransactions in their new Battlefield 5 game. At this point, there is no option of purchasing the in-game currency. You only ear Company Coin and then spend it on extra stuff. It seems that “status-quo” won’t remain for long.

According to VGR, we might be getting a premium BF5 currency in January. Their source of information is Reddit, which means that we should take this leak with a pinch of salt. It wouldn’t be the first time that Reddit published true leaks, but users of this network also knew to reveal false information in the past.

Battlefield V Upgrades

If you take a look at Reddit, you will notice that there is a screenshot that reminds of a product listing portrayal. It is a digital code for 6000 of the currency. This isn’t surprising as it was expected for players to be able to choose between multiple options when it comes to the amount of currency you want to buy. The important thing to mention is that both DICE and EA clearly stated that only cosmetic upgrades will be available for purchase with the new currency in Battlefield 5.

The Currency Won’t Come Cheap

As for the price, you will need to spend $49.99 for 6,000 units and you will be able to do this starting January 18th, 2019. The implementation date is more than realistic considering that we expected EA to present purchasing options a lot sooner. We just hope that they will stay true to their promises that you won’t be able to buy an in-game advantage.

As for the price, $49.99 may seem too high but keep in mind that this is undoubtedly one of the bigger available packs, maybe even the biggest. You also need to keep in mind that the cost of digital codes may vary depending on the website that you use for the purchase.

At the end of the day, all this is only speculation and we will have to be patient until the Battlefield V currency is officially implemented or until EA makes an announcement.
